Schools Reopening These states will resume normal classes in schools from February 2021

Many states in India have decided to reopen the schools from February 2021 with several Covid-19 safety measures. Check the complete list of states here

Educational institutes, including schools and colleges, have been shut down across India since March 2020, ever since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country. After secondary schools, primary schools are also all set to reopen in several states.

But, after more than ten months of closure due to the ongoing coronavirus COVID 19 pandemic, schools for students of Classes 1 and 2, is all set to reopen from February 1 in several states.

Maintaining the physical distance between students in classrooms and teachers in staff rooms is mandatory and use of face masks, sanitisers, frequent washing of hands are made compulsory.

Most of the states are only reopening the schools for higher classes such as classes 9 to 12 as these students have the most academic pressure and have to appear for the board exams set to take place in the first half of 2021.

Schools Reopening from February 2021:

Karnataka

Education Minister S Suresh Kumar has announced that Karnataka schools in southern states will reopen and all set for full-day classes for the students of Class 9, 10, and Pre-University classes from February 1.

Jammu and Kashmir

The government of Jammu and Kashmir has also issued standard operating procedures to resume schools and colleges in February. Schools and higher education institutions in the summer zone of the Jammu region will reopen for Classes 10 to 12 from February 1

Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division, the higher education institutions will resume for offline classes on February 15.

Himachal Pradesh

The classes for 8-12 in schools are now set to reopen from February 1 in Himachal Pradesh. Schools that lie in the hilly region in the state and have longer winter vacations and will resume classes from February 15, 2021.

Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced the reopening of classes 9-12 in the state from February 1, 2021, also for the private colleges along with the government colleges in the state from February 1, 2021.

Meghalaya

Meghalaya will resume offline classes for the students of higher educational institutions from February Meanwhile, Most of the schools in Meghalaya have resumed offline classes to continue the teaching-learning process in the state this year.

Haryana

According to an order issued by the Department of School Education the schools will reopen from February 1, 2021, for classes 6 to 8 students.

State Education Minister Kanwar Pal said that a decision on resuming offline classes for students of Class 1 to Class 5 will be taken later.

Gujarat

The offline class of grade 9 and 11 are going to resume from February 1. Meanwhile, the state reopened the school for classes 10 and 12 this year

Maharashtra:

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) allowed the reopening of schools for Classes 5th to 8th from February 1, while in Thane district students of Classes 5th to 8th have resumed school from January 27.

Punjab

Punjab will also open pre-primary classes at all government, aided, and private schools from February 1, 2021

The students of Classes 3 and 4 have already started from January 27, 2021
