A new teaser from Honda motorcycles indicates that the brand will launch a new motorcycle on February 16,2021. The new motorcycle is likely to share cycle parts with the CB 350 with a whole new approach to design.

Honda has teased a new motorcycle that is likely to be based on the CB 350 platform. In a teaser invitation to the launch scheduled for the 16th of February 2021, strategically shows the tail section of the motorcycle. While exact details are yet to be known, the suspension set up gives away its connection to the CB 350, as does the text which reads “Powered by legacy”, not unlike from the approach that Honda used in the run up to the launch of the H’ness CB 350.

Aside from the suspension (and the mechanical bits) it seems that this motorcycle employs a completely unique approach to design. The new bike will have a fatter rear tyre likely down a size to 17inchs from the 18-inch wheels on the CB 350. Another big change is tread pattern on the tyres that seem to be an on-off road pattern that are common to the scrambler genre of motorcycles. Unlike the H’ness all chrome mud-guard retro styled mud guard, this new motorcycle features a tail light assembly that appears to be mounted into the rear seat with a taller flatter plastic fender mounting sleek LED indicators at the back. The exhaust looks very similar to the one of the H’ness CB 350 but seems to be mounted in a more aggressive angle.

From the looks of it this motorcycle could very well be an amalgamation of the design ethos CB 300 R -- that never made it to the BS6 roster -- with the mechanicals of the CB 350. What will be interesting to see is whether Honda have opted for the Scrambler approach or a neo-retro cafe racer like the CB 300 R. More information is likely to emerge closer to launch but based on what we know so far it is likely that this new motorcycle will be positioned above the CB 350 that is presently priced between Rs 1.86 lakh and 1.92 lakh ex-showroom.
