Interestingly, the Kia Carnival was known as the Kia Sedona in the North American market, but Kia has confirmed that the 2022 model will be called Kia Carnival in the USA market as well.
There isn’t much to go along about the 2022 Kia Carnival MPV, except the teaser image that depicts darkened grille that will integrate the new Kia badge. Apart from that, expect the 2022 Kia Carnival MPV to feature significant updates on its exterior and interior. The outside will be shaper and chunkier than before, showcasing an SUV stance with a tall hood and angular body lines. The dual sliding rear doors will of course continue, which will allow access to the second and third row of the MPV.
The 2022 Kia Carnival MPV is said to be 40mm longer and has a 30mm longer rear overhang than the previous model with a 30mm longer wheelbase and is 10mm wider. This will free up extra legroom on the inside for the second row and third-row passengers as well as extra boot space. Power in the 2022 Kia Carnival will come from a new 3.5-litre V6 GDI engine producing 290bhp and 355Nm of peak torque, sending power to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Kia will not offer an AWD model for the new Carnival, nor will it arrive with a hybrid powertrain.
